Helmet Donation Program

     Supporting Nathan Hale Football

Dear Huskies Parents & Players:

Coach Sean Hegarty, Coach Dean Figueroa, and the Huskies Gridiron Club have worked out the 2010 details of the Nathan Hale Football Helmet Donation Program to support our football teams. At the close of every season the helmets that are used by our Huskies football players go through a recertification process to ensure that they are safe to use for the upcoming season. Due to natural attrition, a number of helmets need to be replaced annually.

As a follow up to last year’s successful program, we are once again pleased to offer the Nathan Hale
Football Helmet Donation Program for your consideration. In 2009, Hale families helped purchase 19
helmets to add to the equipment stock for our players.

THE PROGRAM IS SIMPLE. Any family can choose to purchase a football helmet, which is considered a
donation to Hale Athletics and is tax deductible to the fullest extent available by IRS guidelines (forms
will be provided). This helmet will be used exclusively by the player that purchased the helmet as long
as they are participating in the football program. The helmet will be treated like other helmets as far
as storage and routine maintenance. The school district has agreed to pay for all recertifications of the
helmet (approximately $30 per year). When the player’s football career comes to an end, the helmet
enters the general “pool” for use by others in the program.

We are currently suggesting that one of the two helmet designs be considered by any interested
families. They are the Xenith X1™ Helmet ($295.00) and the Riddell Revo Speed™ Helmet ($208.00).
Information about the helmets is available at www.xenith.com and www.riddell.com. Coach Hegarty
will have samples available in weight room. Both designs boast new innovations and technologies to
help provide increased levels of safety related to head injuries.

In order to take advantage of group pricing and to get the helmets on order to have them ready for the
first day of practice, we will be conducting a one day sizing on WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 4:00 in the
weight room. Coach Hegarty, Coach Figueroa andthe Xenith and Riddell Reps will be on hand that day for sizing and to take orders.
